    Hi,

I have burnt my video made in Premiere Pro 2 to DVD, using these settings, ‘PAL DV 4:3 High Quality 4Mb VBR 2 Pass’

The movie project was set up as a standard Pal project (p.s. I’m in the UK) so the size is fixed to 720×576, which i believe is 4:3.

I have played the dvd on my laptop and the whole image is there ok.

When I try it on my TV, 32 inch flat TV, it trims off about 1-2 inches off each side.

I’m pretty sure I got the export options set ok. I used: PAL, the ratio is fixed to 720×576. I didn’t go for a 16:9 ratio because it added 4 inches of space on the left and right.

Any thoughts or comments would be very much appreiated.

    Best wishes,
    Nick T

That’s about right. That’s why I edit using a small tv connected to my camcorder.
That way I can see what the television will let you see of the video.
You will notice on the titling in Premier, that there is a tv safe zone marked out.
That way your titles will stay within the tv picture tube view that is not masked off by the cabinet edge.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Unfortunately I have just completed three videos like this.

Is that a work around to fix it or export it in a certain way so that it fits the TV screen?

    Thanks,
    NIck

You can always scale it down by nesting it into a new sequence and applying the scale effect.
