Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro capture quicktime format?

    i cant seem to find a setting in Premiere Pro where i can capture to quicktime format. the default captuer is AVI. is it possible to capture to quicktime format?

    No,
    Premiere is a Windows only app and uses Windows DirectShow support for device control and camera drivers.

    If you want to capture to Quicktime, I suggest using a Mac. If you want to edit on a PC, Quicktime is more trouble than it is worth. DV AVI for a PC is almost the same as a Quicktime capture, but the header differences are significant and troublesome.

    I usually use quicktimes when working in after effects, thats why i wwould like to be able to capture quicktime. i guess i can give avi a try in after effects?

    After Effects will treat DV AVI the same as it does the same data rate and general format of Quicktime. It should be fine.

    i thought premiere, in older versions, captured to quicktime?? i used to use premiere, i believe version 4?? and it captured QT’s.
