Often I need to view my Premiere DV AVI’s through my NTSC monitor. It’s a drag to have to load up Premiere Pro, import all the AVI’s I need to watch and then haaving to sort them on the timeline or click them for playback. In adddition the PP2 GUI is great for video editing but is overkill in regards to screen real estate for just basic video playback of rendered and finished AVIs.

Is anyone aware of a simple video player that can be used for basic playback to an NTSC monitor via the OHCI firewire ports? Canopus used to have a basic player like that for the DVStrom, I found it really practial and reduced load times of a complete editing app.

    Take a look at Video2DV. http://www.video2dv.com

The cool thing about this thing is that it’ll actually play most video formats and convert them in real time !

    Cheers,
