Posted by Migraineboy on March 29, 2006 at 3:03 pmHi!
I have a Canopus Storm 2 video card that i have been using with Premiere Pro 1.5. Now I can’t make it work with Pro 2.
Can somebody help me? Thanks…

March 29, 2006 at 4:34 pmIf you want to make your name, Migraine…. continue with the Storm.
If you want a headache-free solution, part from the Storm. It is no match.Harm Millaard

March 29, 2006 at 5:20 pmI wouldn’t mind but it’s what i’ve got at work. But is there a new plugin for Pro 2 or not? If yes, where can i find it?

March 30, 2006 at 4:43 amCanopus have left us storm users in the dark. After investing real $$$ in hardware, with the pitch of “scaleable technology”, they have decided to alienate their entire user base by forcing us to make a choice, rather than continue to update a few drivers.
I think tomorrows video is OHCI firewire and an SDI option, in SD & HD, but users should be able to make the move at thier own pace, as customers demand it!
Strange, my pc is starting to emitt a foul smell, I think maybe the canopus marketing spiel is starting to go off!

March 30, 2006 at 11:03 amThere is no plug-in for PP 2.0 nor is there likely to be one. Like hundreds, or even thousands of Storm users, you will be best off with using the Storm as a door-stopper or any other dust-gathering appliance, just remove it from your system.
OHCI works very well with PremPro.

Can you at least recommend me an OHCI card?

March 31, 2006 at 2:15 amhere is the guest list in my graveyard…
Miro DC 1, Miro DC 10, Qmotion, Miro DC30+, Miro DC50, Miro DV 300, Plum, Matrox RT2000, Matrox RT2500, Canopus StormPro, Canopus Rex Pro. There is a ‘Reveal’ one there too but I was never able to get it to work.
(BTW. the DV300 is actually being used as an Adaptec Scsii adapter controlling a DLT drive with Encore 2) -

March 31, 2006 at 9:46 amMy mobo has an on-board OHCI connector, which I use, but in addition I got a bundle, consisting of a Hercules PCI board with 3 firewire connectors, together with a Contour Shuttle Pro. This works quite nice. Almost any OHCI board works quite good.
