Issue with exported AE6.0 avi, after rendering in APP7
I have an animation I created in AE6.0, and once I export it (which I have done in multiple formats, AVI, MOV, BMP) it looks great. Then I import this file into APP7, place it on a timeline with video footage (the animation is an opening to a short film), and again it looks clear and exactly how I want it… But here is the kicker, as soon as I render this animation (while in APP7), it gets pixilated and looks like crap. It also seems to stretch the animation just ever so slightly. I’m at a complete loss as to what this issue is. Please help!!!
Both the APP project and AE6.0 comp have the following settings:
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9)
Frame Size: 720 x 480
29.97 fpsWhile in APP7, I’ve also tried pulling the video in with and without the setting “Scale clips to project dimensions when adding to sequence” checked. Still get the same think.
I’ve been working on this for two days to no avail; any help would be greatly appreciated.
NOTE: I cross posted this in the AE & AP forums, as I’m not sure where the issue is…

What are your exact export settings from AE?

Yes, you should probably be exporting as a DV AVI so there is no rendering required in Premiere Pro.

But I don’t have the option to export in DV AVI in AE6.0???

Are you exporting via File > Export or via the Render Queue?

I’ve done it via:
File > Export > AVI…
AND
Composition > Make Movie… > Render Queue (using the Microsoft DV NTSC 32kHz & 48kHz formats)
All to no avail, still have the same issue.

I’ve even done AVI with no compression. All to no avail, still have the same issue.
The Composition is made up (from the bottom up) of one PSD file of a star field duplicated 3 times all of them slowly moving scale, position and rotation, to create a star field background. Then two PSD files of a logo that slow move and appear on screen. And finally, a text layer (created in AE) duplicated three time to allow the text scroll on the screen with different effects for a nice fade in.
These are all rather basic ideas, all using a Creative Cow tutorials as a basis.
When exported (either AVI, MOV, using DV/DVCPRO – NTSC or BMP or No compression at their highest settings) the files look perfect when playing it through WMP or QT. It even looks perfect when I place it on the timeline in APP, it’s just after a render in APP that it looks all pixilated.

NOTE: I’ve even tried taking out all but one layer, and exporting just the one item (just text, or just the logo) and it still does the same thing.
I thought it might have something to do with the PSD files, but I took them out and exported just the text fading on and it still does the same thing???
Next, I tried using different programs I found online to convert the AVI to DVAVI – doesn’t seem to help…
