March 21, 2006 at 9:39 pmSteven,
Does this mean that we are going to have to repurchase
all the music CDs from smartsound in order for it to work?Digital Juice’s Stack Tracks has had a feature like this
for awhile. I’ve never used it, but seen the demos.Mark

As I understand it, it requires new music. So yes.
I have not tried Stack Tracks so I can not compare the two.

Smartsound is so useful that I don’t think I’ll ever

March 21, 2006 at 11:32 pmHaving only ever used the freebie of SmartSound which came with Premiere 6.5, I am wondering if people use this program in lieu of a music library?
Is there enough variety within genres if you do a lot of projects?
This new one sounds interesting.Mike

March 22, 2006 at 1:32 amThere is a tremendous amount of variety. And you can quickly download what you need from the web site for a rasonable price. For example, say I decide I need some jungle drums. I use the program to find “Zimba Dance” and I buy it for $20. Done deal. I don’t know if the prices go up for the Mood based music, but even so, it is a great deal.
There were times when a library made more sense for something in particular, but now with the ability to dig into the innards of the music, there is no sense in passing up a great deal like SonicFire Pro 4.

March 22, 2006 at 2:31 amMy sense of using SmartSound has been that even if there aren’t a larger number of tracks available than a normal music library, a MUCH higher percentage of the tracks are truly useful.
I remember back in the late 80s when Soper Sound had a variety…one saxophone or two…

March 22, 2006 at 8:12 pmit’s true, the Firstcom CDs have about 3-4 good tracks out of 10-12 different tunes. I can’t believe that people really need so much soft-core porn sounding music, cheesy news bumper music or kenny g inspired themes. Maybe that is an indication that the composers only have a few hits in them.
I will check it out.

March 26, 2006 at 8:13 pmI knew they were up to something. I was wondering what they would do to keep improving the product. This is just what I would of ask for. When will it be released…any idea?
Thank You,
