PP 1.5.1 crashes on effects tab
I just upgrated to AspectHD 4.0, but as soon as I went into a prject and clicked on the effects tab, the program shut down. I can’t seem to get CineForm or Adobe to figure out what happened. Maybe someone here know what’s going on. I’ve tried HDV projects, SD projects, re-booting, system restore, un-installing aspectHD, and everyone time Iclick on theeffects tab, Premiere Pro shuts down like clockwork. I’m in the middle of an editing project, due yesterday, so I need to get it going again.

Did this happen before you installed AspectHD? If not, uninstall AspectHD, download an app called CrapCleaner and clean out your registry entries. Then try to duplicate the problem.

No, after. Cineform still hasn’t responded, which makes me think they shouldn’t call it “support” on their web page. “Hang out to dry” would be more like it. Adobe, however, actually said tech support would help as a complimentary support case because of the error message. They couldn’t figure it out either, but I finally figured out that the PPro effects preset files in the user’s folder, not under the program folder, somehow got moved from their folders or were corrupted. I actually found three of them. Deleted them all, and restarted Prem Pro, and it is now working fine.

Good to know that they solved your issue. If this happens in the future, simply delete your preference file located in C:\Documents and Settings\”Your User Name”\Application Data\Adobe\Premiere Pro\”version #” and delete the prefs file.
