Hi everyone. Recently upgraded from Premiere 6.5 to Premiere Pro 2.0. But… I can no longer use my Matrox RTX (10 I think) card with it, and any files I import that were previously captured and saved in the rtx avi format no longer play with audio.

Adobe 6.5 used to have loads of Matrox RTX pre-sets that I used, and these enabled me to do realtime preview on the monitor. It was GREAT! These pre-sets are no longer there in 2.0 and I dont know how to import them. Can anyone help? Is there some update I can run that will make it compatible.

The update is not available yet. Read This.

Hopefully we will not have to wait too much longer.

Thanks Dave! I noticed they have an update for Premiere Pro 1.5 – would that be risky trying to install that to see if it woke Premiere up into realising the hardware was there? Not sure if I’m brave enough to try that… I think I’ll wait for Matrox

Matrox drivers are pretty painless to install. if you want the benefits from the card, it’s worth going with it now.

I’m waiting till April before buying into PPro 2.0 personally…

I tied, it failed. Waiting is the best option.

The Matrox site clearly said it would not work until the new drivers are released for 2.0. They originaly were saying this month for release. Who will be the guinea pig I wonder ?

Dealers and selected/trusted users are usually the first who get access to Matrox’s beta drivers.

From what I’ve ever been exposed to, they usually don’t do a beta release to all dealers until it’s about 4-6 weeks from shipping for everyone.

It’s not worth trying anything until the driver is released. The driver versions of RTX are always purpose designed to work with a specific version of Premiere.
