  best audio format for dvd to be played in theatre?

  I am supposed to submit my short film in dvd format for play at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood (yeah!). I want the audio to be good, should I encode (using Premiere Pro’s Media Encoder) in Dolby Digital – Stereo? So far I have been encoding DVDs with just the default PCM audio. But I want this to sound a better as it will play in a theatre. Please advise?

  PCM is uncompressed audio and sounds better than Dolby. Most folks accept the slightly reduced audio quality and a trade off for an additional 1.2 mbps video bitrate.

  Hi Mike, thanks for your response. When you say trade-off, you mean when going to Dolby? And what does the video bitrate have to do with an audio format? (forgive the ignorance)
