December 31, 2005 at 3:59 amGoogle storyboarding software for starters. I’ve been using the Frame Forge software. You can download a demo version tha’s completely functional, it just limits the amount of objects that you can use. It’s 3D based and if set up properly can give you a reasonably accurate idea of what your angle of view/distance issues are as well. There are some others out there that use, (I believe), 2-d cutouts to populate the frame. Anyway, there’s a start.

December 31, 2005 at 11:56 pmThanks for the suggestion Eric. I have downloaded the demo and after a couple of hours I was setting up small sets that I feel would be useful when trying to get ideas over to the rest of my colleagues. thanks again David

January 1, 2006 at 2:31 amYour Welcome. It’s great for sharing ideas. It’s also good at figuring outt practicl issues. Furniture that has to be moved to give you a clear angle, for instance. One of the things I liked is that if you set it up properly with the film/image size setting and get an idea of your cameras focal lengths (i.e. 8mm-96mm) then you can also see what framing your camera will really give you. How wide a frame you will really get in a 10×10 room. Practical things that can save you a lot of grief when your camera cannot give you the pictures that your imagination can. Anyway, enjoy.
