    Hi all,

I need to create a moving image logo that is a cocoon made from film strip, curled around, if you can imagine that. The film strip has to unwind to reveal something inside.

I haven’t got a clue where to start, please help. I don’t even know how to make the film strip move in a spiral fashion.

I hope I’ve explained this well enough.

    Please help, anyone!

    Does this help?

https://www.plugincentral.com/HTM/Articles/MaffittSpiralAE/AE_Spiral_Animation01.htm . The relevant effect nowadays would be CC sphere or CC cylinder.

It may or may not give you what you want. AE doesn’t deal in 3D depth without plugins such as Forge Freeform or Zaxwerks Invigorator. You might be able to unwrap with the Boris Cylinder plugin, but I haven’t used it. If you want to really do it up right, you might have to use a real 3D application such as Cinema 4D.

    Anybody else?

    Steve
