Searched posts, but still don’t know if 1.5 does dual core
Posted by Rich Rosen on September 17, 2005 at 11:05 pmWas PPro 1.5 written to take full advantage of dual core cpu’s like the AMD X2’s? If yes, where will the speed be seen? Rendering? Thanks.

September 18, 2005 at 2:44 amAs I recall, Premiere Pro 1.5 was written before the common availability of Dual Core CPUs, so it is highly unlikely that it will see them as anything other than 2 CPUs. Which probably helps, but I would not consider it optimized.

September 18, 2005 at 2:35 pmI just did the demos of Matrox Axio at IBC using Dual Core AMD’s and PPro 1.5.1
With Axio’s Scaleable performance, I was able to show twice as many streams in Real Time ( 4 video & 4 graphics in HD, 6 or 7 video & 6 or 8 graphics in SD) PLUS I had greatly accelerated rtendering times on my exports and renders.
FYI . . .

September 18, 2005 at 5:30 pm“With Axio’s Scaleable performance” was it Axio or PPro that took advantage of dual core? I use PPro alone.

September 21, 2005 at 1:25 pmIt was the Matrox driver. Premiere Pro can only identify multiple processors.
