  • Preserve colors RGB 1-255 from stills in target video

    Hi guys:

I’m trying to make my own basic grayscale (and other patterns) calibration discs. We use a particular sequence of patterns for our calibrations and I am tired of having to chnage between 3 different companies discs to get the desired patterns I use.

Unfortunately all (or at least one) of my tools (as I know how to use them) are mangling the input colors of my source still files. Kinda stinks since it means they are “helping” me on everything I do .

I want to take a 720×480 still with set video RGB levels 1-255 and produce a video clip that preserves those levels. Normally on NTSC white is 235 and black is 16, I need to preserve above and below normal video levels in the video. I know it can be done, I have others discs. Just don’t know how to accomplish it.

Can anyone tell me how to do it? I have the requisite stills created in Photoshop. Premiere Pro (7), the Mainconcept DV codec, and the Mainconcept standalone encoder.

    Any pointers greatly appreciated.

    Best, Scott

I have a program that was a non-commercial version of the program they used to make the Jumpbacks looped backgrounds. This program is super simple and just takes bitmapped image sequence files and converts them directly to uncompressed AVI or other formats. The program came on the demo disc from Jumpbacks.

Maybe that would be a way to accomplish you purpose.
    But I’m no pro.
