HDV–Monitor Window problem
When I open my 1080i HDV footage (in Premiere Pro 1.5.1 with HDV plugin) in a HDV 1080i project, the tape image in the monitor window is huge–too big to fit on both my dual head monitors combined. Plus, the monitor window size selector is grayed out. What gives? How can I see my entire raster in a normal size monitor window?

Try selecting a few workspace presets and see if it snaps into shape for you.
or:
The percentages are greyed out, but can you scale the window with the bottom right corner of the window?
If you can…rearrange your workspace and save it and see if it holds.

It is grayed out? At what size. Perhaps you could create a new DV project, set the size to “Fit”, close that project and open up your HDV project. It should be set to “Fit”.

Thanks for the tips. Today, the scroll bars are gone from the monitor window and it scales larger or smaller smoothly with the entire raster visible, although the size function is still grayed out. Momentary hiccup in Premiere? Can’t say.
