Geeez. I am not a Premiere guru, just want to take a dark AVI file and increase the brightness and adjust the contrast a little, not looking to improve the quality, just want to be able to use the video. Anyway, I add the effect to the video on the time line, adjust it to my likeing, then when I preview, it just goes dark! arggg… am I doing something wrong I hope.. you can help! thanks

Which effect are you adding? Have you tried using Levels?

Thanks Steven, I tried using LEVELS, worked good, I setup the video and the preview image looked great, but when I went to scrub the timeline it reverted back to normal. Seems easy, just drag the LEVEL effect to the video timeline and adjust, but then what, how do you APPLY it to the entire timeline.
