I need to make a dvd out of a .mpg file. When I drop the clip into Premiere 6.5, the audio plays fine but the image seems to play at a lower frame rate in the preview window. This is the same no matter what i export to as well. Do i need to convert the file back to .avi before rendering to dvd in Premiere?

    Here’s the file specs:

    Size: 55.47Mb
    Duration: 3min 36sec
    Average Data Rate: 262.66KB/second
    Image Size: 320×480
    Pixel Depth: 0 bits
    Frame Rate: 29.97 fps

    Audio: 44100 Hz – 16 bit – stereo

    Thanks,
    -Russ

It would be better if you could convert your clips to 720*480 AVI files for better editing. MPG files are not meant to be edited and Premiere does not handle them that well either.

ya, what he said. There are a number of programs if you search online that will let you do this, it was a while ago, but i eventually found a free one

Thanks guys for the replies. I wound up pulling out virtual dub and it did the trick.

    Thanks again,
