slow beyond slow
I’m new to AE. (Ok to groan, I’m groaning too)
I’ve been working through some short clips and getting acquainted with AE. I’m working on a 3 second clip with 4 layers. Some footage of a door with a man going though it. A vector graphic of an eye above the door and a rotoscoped layer of the same footage to allow the man to pass over the eye. There’s a null layer with a tracking effect on it that the eye is tied to.
Every time I do something to this clip it takes forever to render. I do something and wait and wait and wait, while AE renders whatever I’ve changed. (This is incredibly tedious, but I’m not here to complain, I’m here to find a fix) CPU usage is up over 100% (how does that work?) sometimes up to 200%. The other two clips I’ve done didnt have this problem. Occasionally I’d have to wait for a bit, but not like this.
I found a guy on YouTube who suggested closing the library panel and that seemed to work initially. It didnt last however.
ANY advice, or suggestions, or a clue to what might be happening and how it might be fixed would be vastly appreciated.
Be well, A.
