  AE7 Trial asks for serial number.. Where can I get one?

  Hi!

  I’ve placed my order with Adobe to upgrade from AE 6.5 Pro to AE 7 Pro, but in the meantime I thought I’d try out the AE 7 downloadable trial version. On installation it gives me the option to install the full version if I have a serial number. Well I just paid for the upgrade from Adobe but the folks at Adobe Customer support here in Australia tell me it won’t ship until late February and have no idea where I can get such a serial number from.

  It would seem to me you must be able to get your new serial number from Adobe somehow before you actually receive the shipped product otherwise why put the option in the trial version installer!?

  Any ideas how I can get my new serial number? I presume this is what the installer is asking for…

  I just thought things might be a little clearer closer to Adobe Central in the good ‘ol U.S. of A…

  Can’t help you on that one, but was in the same position based in Australia also. I cancelled my order and ordered the upgrade via toolfarm, who have shipped it and should be here in the next day or two.

  I’d suggest doing the same if you are keen. Past experience is a 6 week turnaround from release to receive in Australia when ordered via Adobe Australia.

  I recall that there was a hiccup with the trial instalation with regards to its cability for being upgradable to a serialised version. While the initial intent was to allow for trials to be ‘upgraded’ to a full version via inputting a serial number, that didn’t materialse when the product was shipped.

  Your best bet is to either uninstall the trial version and/or install the serialised (boxed) version, into another folder, once that arrives.

  if you wanna use the trial, just be sure you put a name ine the name field.. if not the installer will always ask you a serial. If you put a name, you can install the trial mode.
