AAE and Rotoscoping – problem
Hellow guys, good week to all , i’m new to rotoscoping , but i understand how it works at a medium-high level ( i worked with masking ) , but im trying the rotobrush auto thing.
The problem i have is that i select roto brush ( follwed a tutorial), and as soon as i click the comp, it does a click thing and i think the whole video is selected inside a big rotobrush scene ( i can see an big rectangle around the video ) , but i don’t see my selection on screen. ( the pink thing sorounding the selection i’ve made)

1ST PICTURE - when i click on rotobrush and then heading to click on the layer - video -
2ND PICTURE - the exact moment i click on the layer - video - ( does not matter the stop i click ) - does a big click and selects i guess whole scene
3RD PICTURE - example of brush just to test out ( you can still see pink rectangle around whole video ) , it does not show nothing after ( no selection was made )
4TH PICTURE - when i change to ALFA the whole video dissapears , meaning the whole video was roto out ?
5TH PICTURE - again i try to roto after changing back from ALFA - still nothing ... when i exit the layer and watch the comp, nothing has happened ( even after freezing the frames )

The image showing the alpha is all white. That means nothing is roto-ed. It’s all there.
What does the warning banner say at the bottom of your layer window?

Forget roto…use the mocha effect…its way easier

The error says bassicaly ” frame rate does not match or material with fields found”

I’ve heard alot about mocha .. i will try it out .. thanks for help guys

Drag your footage to the new comp button. Then, try doing your roto on that.
There are some things the Roto Brush is great for. But there are a lot of shots where tracking by hand (with several masks instead of just one) works better.
Mocha AE has some tools that can help, but Mocha Pro has more options. If you end up doing this kind of work a lot, it might behoove you to look into it.

Thank you very much , i’ll try the rotobrush and with various masks . Mby i’ll try mocha pro , but i only do some projects.
