  2D from the front but 3D from the side

  Hi everyone,

  I was wondering if it’ss possible to see, in this case a logo, from the front in 2D but as soon as the camera turns, or the logo turns, have it in 3D.

  Sorry but I have to cover the logo since its an ongoing project. I hope you can understand what I’m asking.

  There’s several ways to do this:

  Andrew Devi’s created this tutorial on using Shatter to create 3D objects from 2D planes:

  Alternatively, you could achieve similar using C4D Lite and that’s a true 3D program.

  If you have the funds, the Trapcode Particular (or Form, I think) can be used to generate particles in the shape of a layer, which then have their own depth.

  And there’s always Video Copilot Element which can extrude layers too.
