    I’ve been attempting to do a light painting effect on some footage of a baton twirler. Unlike a point emitter and doing a streaklet effect with Particular, I want to mimic the effect you see in Pixelstick ads ( https://www.thepixelstick.com/img/slider/abstract4.jpg ) In this case, the entire shaft of the baton acting as an emitter.
    I thought this would be pretty simple using a layer emitter or a box emitter in particular but it has proven to be not so straight forward. I tried doing a box emitter and manually transforming with the baton. Created a beam effect that was tracked to the twirling motion and used that as a layer emitter. Neither has yielded good results. I would need to generate an absurd amount of particles. I also have licenses for Mir, Form, and 3D stroke, although I’m largely unfamiliar with them and don’t know how to properly tool them for this effect.
