Random grid opacity in with scale
Posted by Marco Salemi on February 19, 2019 at 11:24 pmHi everyone!
I’m trying to create this grid animation where each element appears randomly. As you can notice it appears scaling up and then down to his final size. Of course it’s possible to do it manually animating every single element, but I would like to have more control, and this seems to be so Trapcode Form.
So I would trying to figure out wich Map could generate this animation effect…
Any suggestion or ideas?Thank you so much for the support :))

February 20, 2019 at 8:46 amHello,
You can do that with the effector in the free plugin Duik Bassel.
Here is a tutorial on how you can do that :

February 20, 2019 at 4:53 pmYou could do it in Form by using another layer with Fractal Noise on it (gradually transitioning to being all one color) to drive the scale. Form lets you use other layers as maps.
Although, you don’t need Form at all. In fact, the hip thing these days would be to do this with a text animator! Check out this tutorial for some really cool, powerful things to do with the text animator: https://youtu.be/plbsdkRhy8g He makes a cool, abstract box (like you describe) around 23 minutes in, but the whole thing is really useful.

February 20, 2019 at 6:08 pmYeah thanks! I actually knew this way, but still in not what I’m looking for.
Fractal noise allows me to achieve a similar result, but no that one exactly!
I would like to understand how that Map is made -

February 20, 2019 at 8:07 pmYou would need to animate the evolution as well as the brightness and contrast to get it to cause the behaviour as demonstrated in your example.
