    Good evening,
I’m working on a project where fiddleheads are growing and unfurling into ferns. The original design is vector, but I can’t figure out a good way to animate the curling. I’ve tried puppet pins and mask lines but they are both very jagged. I’ve even tried just drawing a line and moving the points, but it still seems too jagged.
I feel like I’m missing something really simple. Any thoughts appreciated.
    Thanks.

Page Turn is your best bet. If you don’t mind spending a bit then there’s 3D Wraps from Zaxwerks.

There are lots of ways to do this. Do you have an example of what it should look like curled and what it should look like uncurled. Those images will determine what features we have to concentrate on.

I think I figured it out…I created a bone and controller system for the main stem to grow, then parented the leaves to each bone as it goes up. Looks okay so far! I’ll post again if I have any trouble.
    Thanks for the input.
