If you can afford a used computer, you can get a used MacMini with an Apple Silicon M-series chip for $400 or so. I’ve seen them as low as $200, although with minimal RAM (8GB, but you’d want 16GB) and a small (250GB) internal SSD. I’d avoid Intel chip Macs at this point. The entire Creator Studio with Final Cut Pro is only $13 a month.

    Hi,

If you search for OpenCore Legacy Patcher and have a little bit of knowledge of installing systems, you can use a newer macOS version and use FCPX.

This doesn’t allow you to go to the latest version and all the features, but you can use most of the features of FCP. Don’t go to the latest version of macOS. It may break your system. It will help you to last a little more with your current system.

Apple has stopped listing older versions of FCP for older macOS versions. It’s a shame, but they have.
