I’m going from one youtube video to another looking for a few answers. I can’t find them.

My short is complete on a timeline. I’m not great with color correcting. But, I’m able to play, adjust, and find my way around.

Fairlight and sound is a nightmare. I have a few questions.

Track 1 and 2 are dialogue. That’s easy.

There are lets say 50 clips on Track 1 and 60 clips on Track 2. Some have room tone noise in the background, others don’t.

    1. If I highlight clip 1 on track 1 and add noise reduction, does it apply to all the other clips on the timeline, or is it applied only to that clip?

The reason I’m asking, the noise reduction is on the Track 1 mixer. So, if it’s part of the mixer, then I would assume it’s on everything on that track.

This is just the first question. Final Cut was easy. This is NOT.

You can apply plugin effects to clips or channels. If you select a clip and drag the effect on it is available to adjust in the inspector by clicking on the effect tab. If you drag it on the channel strip, or select via the drop down menu, it applies to the whole channel (ie the whole of the track.) There are also a couple of special case effects like dialog isolate, leveller etc that can be turned on on the channel strip.
