Hey all, just on a little treasure hunt to find where Premiere is auto saving.

When I look at the preferences within the project, it shows:

    documents > adobe > Premiere Pro > 22 > Autosave

However, when I navigate to that location, the file is not there. I’m searching everywhere on my system drive but can’t seem to find the file. Any ideas?

In mine a folder called “Adobe Premiere Pro Auto-Save” is automatically created in the same folder where my project document resides.

Yes, that is usually the case, but the file is not there or anywhere that I can find.

    Hi Malcolm,

In the latest versions of Premiere Pro, autosave files are typically saved in the same folder where the original project was created. If you changed this setting either initially or during your work, you can find the current autosave location by going to File > Project Settings > Scratch Disks and checking under “Project Auto Save.”

Additionally, autosave files can sometimes be found in Documents > Adobe > Premiere Pro > [Version] > Autosave folder.

    Hope this helps!

    Bye!

Hey everyone, I finally found the auto save folder on a separate drive that I use for cache files. No idea why Premiere decided to put it there as the project settings clearly indicate a different file path.
