  How to create a “particle garden” type of effect

  I’m trying to create an effect similar to an android wallpaper that I recently found, the wallpaper is essentially a lot of little white particles floating around and as 2 of the particles become closer to each other, a white line becomes increasingly more opaque. Here’s a screenshot:

  The particles are also drawn towards each other, so as they become closer to each other the gravity between them becomes stronger, this may be to much to ask for but I’m hoping it’s possible
