  • MatchGrain alternative that works in 32bit AE?

    Hello!
I am looking for a solution!
I did vfx work in AE and the studio has bright clamping issues duo to the fact I have used
MatchGrain to finish and polish the shots. (delivered as EXR sequences)
MatchGrain supports 8 bits… So my rendered files are not as expected (32bit or at least 16)
What is my alternative? I need a to get the grain back.
Any tip will be greatly appreciated!
    Kind regards.

One of the alternatives I found online to MatchGrain is the Digital Anarchy’s Grain Effect. Its a plugin that creates grain and noise and has many types of grain that you can choose from.

You can also adjust the size, strength, and type of the grain. It’s compatible with both After Effects and Premiere Pro.

You can download a free trial to test it for yourself so see if it works for you, if you do decide to purchase it, it will cost $199.

Here is the link for more info: https://digitalanarchy.com/Flicker/main.html

    Thanks for replying Hector.
I am trying to make sure, going through the documentation of the plugin as well as some online tutorials, are you sure flicker free has grain possibilities?
I have used that plugin a couple of years back with someone, for flicker reduction.
Not sure I understand where the grain related capabilities there.
    Thanks!

Its possible but I only looked it up to have that possibility when I was researching your question, I have not directly used it myself but try it for yourself and see if it helps or not 🙂 Good luck!
