  • Mask not working at all in 3D text

When I create a mask in a 3D text it won’t work at all. I have tried multiple things like precomposing, making a 2D text first apply the mask and then convert it to 3D, directly create the mask on the 3D text, using a camera and even moving the axis just in case. And I just can’t get it to work. I have followed many youtube tutorials doing it and I can’t tell what I am doing wrong.

This is how I see it:

Any idea on how to make it work?

    Hi Paul
Try changing the “Cinema 4D” Engine to “Classic 3D” by pressing the render engine button circled in the screen-cap.

The C4D is a great engine for extrusions in AE but it does not support masks (yet…)

    Cheers!

    Sorry for the late reply.

I did also try change the render engine. Nothing happens.
