Zoom separate audio files not syncing in FCP X
I am beyond frustrated. I have tried every setting, every Zoom support, every conversion I can think of but I can’t figure this out or get any help from Zoom.
I am recording video podcasts on zoom. I edit in Final Cut Pro. When I record locally and get separate audio files, they sync up perfectly. But to get an additional video source for B-roll, i have to record to the cloud. Okay. Done. HOWEVER…when I do that, the separate audio files don’t sync up. They are shorter than their video counterparts.
I briefly corrected this by changing my FCP settings to 360p rather than 720p, but of course, the video then looks crappy. I then realized that the video was recording at 360p and I got that fixed. I was sure that would fix the problem, but it has not. I now can keep the video at 720p and the project at 720p but the audio goes back to not syncing. You can see that it is physically shorter in length.
I don’t know if I have to try to change it from 32kz to 44kz, because I do realize it’s been recording in mono, and I’ve now changed that setting and am about to test it, but do any of you know of any known problems with Zoom files and FCP X? Zoom support was NO help, giving me a non-senseical answer that just made me feel they don’t want to bother on a weekend.
If any of you can help, I’d really be grateful. My next recording date is Thursday and these editing sessions are brutal without b-roll.
Thanks much,
Caat
