Remove black background in Adobe video
Have UnMult from Maxon-Red Giant and purchased a video from Adobe. Though Unmult removes the black background easily, the foreground object (animal) becomes almost transparent and you can see through it. How do I fix this? I think its removing black portions perhaps from the animal too? Green screen removals with Keylight works perfectly all the time, but black backgrounds (and I purchased several), are giving me trouble.
Any suggestions?

As a note, I used Unmult, which has the same effect as using key color and linear color key etc, etc… as they all have the same outcome – they remove the black (Alpha?) background but makes the animal stock transparent. When sliders are adjusted, even slightly, it brings back the black background. Almost impossible. Hopefully I haven’t wasted my money with these Adobe stock vids — MANY THANKS for any help!

The Effect you’re looking for to do a Luma-based key is Keying > Extract.
(Edit: Color Range in RGB-space with plenty of fuzziness, or Linear Color Key can also work, but Keyers based on Chroma won’t)
Usually I follow it with Channel > “Remove Color Matting” to get rid of some black fringes.
You’ll have to manually mask back in some black areas (like the pupils or shadowy mouth for example) that you don’t want to be transparant.
