Help Wave world+caustics = can’t make multiple ripple points
Hello,
I am relatively new to after effects and have been studying wave world and caustics in order to create ripple points in succession, attempting to generate a simulation as if rain drops had touched water one after another.
This would be for a 20 second intro animation to videos and would only need about 6 ripple points, arranged and times to look like a shatter of rain has hit some water, which I have the look of a reflection from an image I made.
Following a YouTube guide, I’ve gotten quite familiar with the effects and produced a lovely single ripple point with nice lighting and bouncing off edges etc. However, the FIRST ripple point is where it ends. No matter what I do, I cannot achieve a second ripple point, never mind a third.
Producer 2 refuses to create a point as pronounced as the first and there is no producer 3 etc. Also, I tried keyframing moving to a different point in producer 1 after zero amplitude and frequency keyframes, but the new spot refuses to produce a fresh ripple point of origin.
I’ve also tried to duplicate wave world and caustics, but only one set or the other is ever visible, they refuse to coexist.
I’ve seen the radiowave method, but it doesn’t look like it will produce the same realistic physics and appearance.
Can anyone please help me?
