  Avid MC Version 2021.12 on Catalina

  Hi everyone

  Has anyone had any issues running Avid MC Version 2021.12 on Catalina.

  I currently have Mojave installed on my iMac but am considering upgrading. Wanted to know if anyone had issues?

  You are aware of the impact of losing QT support when you move to Catalina or above?

  The newer Avid versions use UME for export, a different AMA plugin and less import support.

  You may have issues accessing older projects that used the QT AMA plugin.

  thank you Pat, I didn’t know that QT support would be lost.

  Is UME stable? are there any issues what UME or work arounds?

  I need to use an avid version that is compatible with two different machines as I will be jumping between two locations. One currently runs Mojave, the other Monterey.

  Avid MC Version 2021.12 appears to work on both, but I thought upgrading to Catalina would be a better bet. I’m not so sure now. What would you suggest?

  Accessing older projects is not a problem, as those projects have long gone.

  There are mixed reports of users having issues running Avid MC Version 2021.12 on Catalina. Some have reported no problems, while others have experienced crashes and errors

  It’s recommended to check Avid’s official compatibility list before upgrading to ensure your system is supported
