  • Source Text and Styles – A way to differentiate and/or override?

Hello! Here’s my scenario in the best way I can describe it:

I have one Master Text Layer (White Fill color, No Stroke, Font Size 37) in CompA – that when edited – will need to change 20 other text layers in CompB.

Out of those 20 text layers in CompB, 1 of them has a white Fill color, no Stroke. 19 of them have an orange 1px Stroke, no Fill.

    ***

When I add this to the source text of all 20 text layers in CompB:

    comp(“CompA”).layer(“Master Text Layer”).text.sourceText

This will update the source text of all 20 layers in CompB to match the source text of Master Text Layer in CompA. However, it will also pull all of that Master Text Layer’s styles, etc. (White Fill, no stroke, font size).

    ***

Is there a way to link the source text from the Master Text Layer to all 20 text layers in CompB while also having the text layers in CompB retain their style properties (orange 1px Stroke, no fill)?

This is my first post, so thanks in advance for any help on this!!

    Curtis
