  What is the triangle bounding box inside the normal square bounding box?

  When I drag an effect into a layer. This triangle box will show up.
  What is it for?

  To show the layer you’re putting the effect on. It’s a lot easier to see with those diagonal lines than it would be if it were just a box around the layer.
