    Hi there.

I’m attempting to make this shape (currently a 2D rendering inside Ai) into a rotating 3D shape inside After Effects. The edges need to be stroked and keep the 3D perspective as it rotates. It’ll also need to “fill up” green, though I’m not trying to tackle that just yet.

What would be the best way to set this up?

Extruding the shape with the C4D render makes sense, but strokes obviously aren’t going to be 3D.

Any advice would be helpful – thanks!

Trapcode 3D stroke comes to mind as a quick fix if you have it.

An alternative would be to construct it out of 3D Nulls and use some shapes with Path to Nulls script, (so the lines would be drawn in 2D, with their positions controlled by 3D points) but that’s trickier with curves than with straight lines.

I believe this will be easier to just make in cinema4D(lite) instead of in after effects with the C4D renderer to add simple extrusion to shapes ?
