    Hello,

I have a very important library, full of videos, projects that are key to me. I opened it today (first time in months) and I’m greeted by a “The library appears to be damaged and won’t be backed up” message.

I rushed to back ups…but there is nothing there (maybe because it has been few months since I’ve lasted opened that library).

What should I do while I can still access the library? Should I copy all my projects in a new library and relink assets? But won’t the issue be copied as well?

Library is on a reliable (I think?) external SSD (SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD).

    Thank you for your help.

Likely this was a temporary corruption that happened and is possibly resolved. I’ve seen this happen several times. However, to be safe, copying everything to a new library. It will likely resolve the corruption issue. If not, check out this article, starting with #4. https://blog.frame.io/2016/09/13/recognize-fix-common-problems-fcpx/

Sometimes files on SSDs dont last so long … they are not rated for long time storage unless constantly plugged in to do the refresh cycle.

    Maybe that happened.

And maybe after the SSD being plugged in for a certain amount of time those files can be restored?
