Need a storage solution for professional studio… where to start?
Hello all! I work in IT supporting a professional editing studio which currently runs an older QNAP with 12x12TB drives in a RAID 5 configuration. They are running out of space and I’ve been charged with looking at what might be the best QNAP/storage solution as we upgrade. The main concerns are storage capacity and speed… the studio would like to be able to edit their video files from wherever they’re stored. As you can probably tell, this is not my area of expertise but I was hoping I could ask you knowledgeable folks about a good place to start. Is a QNAP with m2 SSDs the best approach here or should we look at something else? I’m not asking you to build the configuration for me but more just general tips about the optimal setup considering our needs and constraints. Budget is around 25k. Thank you in advance!
