Canon Vixia HFG21 HD — why does everything look out of focus in the viewfinder?
I’m reading and rereading the fine manual — trying to use manual focus because the auto focus is too slow for my short shots. Do have the highlighting turned on so things are good when I see a lot of green, like shooting in B/W but . . .
1. Can’t figure out the MF function button and roller bar. It seems to select a lot of things but not MF.
2. Sometimes the focus ring gets stuck on zoom and I have to go home and pore through the fine manual.
3. I’m used to telephotoing in with a zoom lense, then backing out to get depth of field. But this lens system never seems to find a sharp focus in telephoto.
That said, I’ve taken some beautiful sharp images with this HD camera with the great ergonomics. It just feels wrong when I’m shooting.
Any tips?

yes, does this have to do with the resolution of the screen?
