  Can’t change size of an image by pixels without it also changing by percentage

  So I’m trying to adjust 10 different images to be the same size by pixels and NOT by percentage. This shouldn’t be a problem but all 10 images are different sizes and when I try to give all 10 images the same dimensions in pixels, it changes the percent size of the image for some reason so none of the images are the same size.

  -I go into transform and I can only make it increase by percentage there.
  -I edit the value on the keyframe and I change it from percentage to pixels, but when I input the desired pixels, it effects the percentage of the image as well.
  -I go to Transform>Scale>Expression:Scale and type in pixelAspect instead but it doesn’t visibly change anything for me

  Is there a way to unlink the percentages from the scale somehow? I’ve looked online for this and I can’t find anything. I’m on After Effects 2021 on Windows 10 btw

  If there’s no way to do this, I’d have to change all 10 images to be the same size in Photoshop and import them. If I do, is there a way for me to simply replace the old images with new ones while still keeping all the effects and keyframes added to them? I would want the new images to go to almost the same place so if there’s a way for me to just add the images and keep the same effects and keyframes, that’d be great.

   

   

  Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope I can find a solution. I’m learning this program as I go and this is the one bump in the road I can’t seem to get over.

  I think you just need a simple expression on the scaling, where you can enter a pixel value, something like:

  pixelWidth = 500;
  layerWidth = thisLayer.width;
  ScaleWidth = 100*pixelWidth/layerWidth;
  [ScaleWidth,ScaleWidth]

  In this expression, 500 is how wide you want the layer to be. AE then gets the actual width, converts it to a percentage, and applies it to both the X and Y scales.

  If you want it stretch the Y scale, then you just need to repeat the top three lines, with a different variable name and drop it into the coords as the second value:

  pixelWidth = 500;
  layerWidth = thisLayer.width;
  ScaleWidth = 100*pixelWidth/layerWidth;
  pixelHeight = 500;
  layerHeight = thisLayer.height;
  ScaleHeight = 100*pixelHeight/layerHeight;
  [ScaleWidth,ScaleHeight]
