First I encode the timeline using Media Encoder (NTSC DV Wide Progressive is the format I use). Then I use Encore CS6, which is the last available version of Encore but it still works perfectly for me and I have the most recent updates of all Adobe software.

I can go into more detail if needed.

There never was a direct way to create a DVD from the timeline – at least not that I was aware of…and Encore is long since discontinued as are most DVD authoring programs these days.

Apple, Adobe etc have all but killed DVD production for us…too bad, as some of our clients still want them.

Guessing you dont have Premiere CS6/Encore.

You will have to buy a authoring program such as:

    https://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/taw6.html

If you export from Premiere with mpeg2-dvd preset Authoring Works wont re-encode.

If your source is HD, might want to consider Blu-ray

What about Roxio Toast for making a DVD?

You don’t need to use Premiere CS6, but you do need to have it on your machine since Encore CS6 is installed when you install Premiere CS6. You might be able to find it somewhere on the internet. Encore does work on current PC workstations.

Once you have Encore, it’s a very quick process, even though you’re going from Premiere to Media Encoder to Encore. I use it every month.

As I said, if you find a copy I’d be happy to provide more details if needed.

Best to use the cheaper option these days.
One is Roxio but there are others under $100 USD.

If it’s a straight video play DVD, then all you need to make is a simple TS_FOLDER.

But again you need a converter.

I still have a MacPro with Encore for any older projects that utilize the BD pop-up option.

Sadly this is a dead-end for most of us.

As I recollect from my DVD workflow on Mac – maybe 2008 or so, you’d create a Disc Image file in Encore or DVD Studio Pro, and possibly used Toast to burn it to disc.

I think Toast had some very basic authoring functions, but, not positive on that.
