Using sourcrectattime and animating layer from left when aligned centre!
Hi all, long time reader, first time poster ?
I’m utterly stuck and it’s probably going to have a simple answer that will haunt me, but here goes:
I am creating a template in AE for a title card, which can be seen in the attached image. I have used sourcerectattime so that the rectangle resizes based on the size of text, and this is working no problem. But I also am animating this on (obviously), and the way I’ve chose to do so is the dotted line comes on from the left, and the box appearing from that using scale.
This all works great… until I adjust the text. Then the box is off-centre, or it’s not coming in from the left, and the dotted line is also not landing in the right place.
I’ve tried all sorts of things to do with adjusting the anchor points using the sourcerectattime as well, or adding an extra anchor point using transform, but I really think I’m barking up the wrong tree, or I just don’t know enough about expressions yet to do this thing justice.
If anybody has any suggestions, I would be so very grateful! Let me know if you need more info.
