  Flickering problem with shape layer

  Hi,

  I’m having an issue where this shaper layer is flickering in RAM previews and rendered exports. Its a shape layer with repeater, and opacity changes across the repetitions. Seems to be flickering in the areas with opacity changes.

  I’ve emptied my image and memory cache, tried working in deep color spaces, exporting to various uncompressed media sources. Working in software mode did nothing, nor does exporting with AME vs AE render queue.

  I was working in a slightly older 2017 AE version, and just updated to most recent via CC. No difference.

  Any ideas? Much appreciated.

  I just purged my image/media cache again, and cleaned the media cache database, and now the UI is flicker along with the video:

  I’ve exported it at 60fps, enabled motion blur, and put a noise adjustment layer over it. This has helped and the flicker is hid enough to be basically passable, but its still there.

  But it takes a super long time to export at these settings. Still would still like to know why it won’t export perfectly without these settings.

  I am having a similar issue except with precomps. I have a precomp of an “x” animating in to check boxes on a form and while they are sitting there on screen they just flicker from time to time.

  Update: I had a ton of solids and adjustment layers that were no longer in use underneath and on top of the precomps, so I cut them all down to where their keyframes ended and it fixed the problem. I’m not sure if it was just the amount of layers stacked but it worked for me.
