Cinema 4d Redshift fake caustics effect
hey redshift users,
I’m struggling big time getting a good looking gobo effect for an underwater scene. This was super easy to do in arnold with the light filters, so I’m pondering why it is so difficult in redshift.
I’ve tried using a physical plane with a cutout opacity, however this method is not sharp enough and I’m using displacement on the rock meshes which messes with the end result. So I’m trying instead using a physical light material with the caustics texture plugged in there, which brings me to this result here:
However you can see the texture is warping in certain parts and I’m not sure why this is happening? Is it due to the uv coords of the mesh? I’ve tried scrapping the triplanar node however this makes the whole pattern go super soft on the geometry.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
