  • Mocha Pro: How to motion track 360 degree rotating object (i.e. head)?

    Hey everyone,

this is my first post here and i hope i can get some advice.

In the end i want to replace a 360 degree rotating head with a 3D Object from ELEMENT 3D

So my question is how to track a object (head) which rotates 360 degree?

My scene would be a still standing camera where a person turns the head a full rotation, 360 degree.
I thought about the person wearing some easy trackable shapes on the head, like two table tennis balls or two squares or whatever.
First i would track the walls and ground in the room to achieve the camera solve.

But im struggling to track the full rotation of the head, or the shapes on the head.
At around 90 degrees, you know when the tracked surface is hardly visible anymore, i dont know how to continue?
The tracker doesn’t know that the head continues rotating…

    How is this possible ????

    Thanks
    Max

Masking out the background and doing a camera track with only the head might work? You wouldn’t need Mocha, just the builtin camera tracker.
