  (Question) Problem aligning shapes to make a 3d object

  Is there any decent way to align shapes to make a 3d object to avoid those annoying gaps between them?

  I’ve tried setting the layer mode to Aplha Add like in this video but it doesn’t make any difference.

  Instead of squares I’m using retangulars shapes (on After Effects CC)
