    Hi

How do they do the severed limb effect as seen in so many movies? I know how to do green screen compositing when everything is locked down and nothing is moving too much, but in the movies people are walking around and interacting with other characters etc. This is what I would like to be able to do for an upcoming short film we are planning where a guy lost both his legs and he is sitting in a wheel chair going from point A to B, similar to Lt. Dan in Forest Gump.

Another movie that comes to mind is Soul Surfer:

Any help would really be appreciated.
