  • Can I define the emitter’ Shape to generate a stars night sky?

Posted by Chris Gallego on September 9, 2016 at 11:52 pm

I want to create some star to emulate the milky way in 2d. I used cc particle world but I don’t know how to “freeze”?¿ the animation. I just want the same effect but in static. Is there any way to get it?

And the other doubt is about the emitter shape. Can I define a lenticular shape a bit bend to give a curved to that lenticular shape?
For example: If I draw a curve or arch (with pen tool) Can I use or set that stroke like an emitter?
I hope do you understand my idea and my special English.

    Thanks.

Use zero velocity for the particles and life span long enough to cover the entire length of the comp. Emit particles for a few frames at a high rate and then turn emission to 0. You can reshape the emitter during the emission to create a bulge at the center.

When you’re happy with it, push the layer back a few seconds so that the shape is fully formed when the shot begins.

I did everything but the last step here (AECC14):

Reading that again, you want to create the Milky Way, not a galaxy. The same principles apply: You can move the emitter across the sky, and change the shape while it is emitting to create the look you want.
