  Stop frame motion blur

  Hi all,

  I have a 42 frame logo animation created by drawing each frame in Illustrator, importing into AE and positioning each AI layer as per the screenshot. It’s required a fair amount of tinkering but I’m pretty pleased with result so far.

  My question is, is there any way of adding a touch of motion blur to this stop frame method? The ways I know where the motion is created in AE don’t work in this instant.

  You’ll have to render your animation out without motion blur and then bring the clip back into After Effects as a piece of footage. Apply the “CC Force Motion Blur” filter/effect to the footage. There are plenty of online tutorials and YouTube videos that go into more detail if you need it.

  There’s the industry-standard third-party plugin, ReelSmart Motion Blur that’s out there too. Often gets surprisingly great results.
