    Hello there,

I’ve created a particle rain right in After Effects CC in 5K and also 1K big custom composition, where I designed a particle sprite which moves and glitters for around 1 sec. My comp looks like that:

    Composition is 5 Sec long

Layer 1.) Glitter Particle (1sec) (Visibility hidden)

Layer 2.) Particle World CC (5sec)

In the preferences I choose “Textured Disc” and under Texture Layer my custom 1K particle composition. Everything works well and shows up like it should. The thing is, I would like to make the particle loop and also make it happen to build in some diversity when the particles start in a different time for each one, but actually as the “Glitter Particle” comp is passed by, every particle lights up the same way and shuts down the same way, also I cannot loop them.

Is there a way to automate those parameters in some way?

1.) Make my custom composition loop in CC Particle World

2.) Set a different start animation for every particle

    Thanks in andvance!

    Cheers

Any chance you have Red Giant’s Trapcode Suite? Particular can do this really easily. I don’t think you can do what you’re asking for with CC Particle World.

If you use “From Start” as the texture time each particle will use the starting frame of your texture, which is what you’ve found. You can loop this texture before it gets to CC Particle World.

There’s nothing stopping you duplicating the layer or particle effect and texture. That would give you two lots of particles. There’s a random option in Extras so they won’t be identifical.
